ÍRIS SUSANA PIRES PEREIRA
I hold a degree in Portuguese and English Teaching from the University of Minho, a Master's degree in Portuguese Linguistics and Didactics from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon and a PhD in Child Studies from the University of Minho. I am assistant professor at the Institute of Education at the University of Minho (UMinho, Portugal) and coordinator of the research group 'Technology, Multiliteracies and Curriculum' at the Centre for Research in Education (CIED), UMinho. The teaching and learning of multiliteracies and initial and ongoing teacher education are my main areas of study. I have published in several international journals such as Language and Education, Research Papers in Education, Language, Pedagogy and Culture, Changing English, L1, Teacher Development, Perspectiva, and Educação e Pesquisa. I am currently a representative of Portugal in the project 'COST - The Digital Literacy and Multimodal Practices of Young Children'. I am also a member of the team responsible for curricular reform of the basic education of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, under the auspices of UNICEF and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and of the team responsible for developing the curriculum for an Early Years Education degree in East-Timor.
